What is TooCool ?

Too Cool is a new web application that aims primarily to facilitate collaborative work, animation and participation of groups of actors working together on inter/transdisciplinary and multisectoral approaches to solve complex health problems in agriculture. Developed after a decade of collaborative research, training or development networks/projects in the Caribbean region, the tool is intended to be used in other contexts. Too Cool aims to increase the effectiveness/efficiency of collaborations by facilitating:
the involvement and participation of a variety of actors/partners with different roles and responsibilities
the sharing and integration of information at different scales (activities, projects, networks)
the organisation of links/communications or synergies between projects
the organisation of events (training, workshops, conferences - face-to-face or virtual)
the constitution of an institutional memory, limiting duplication.

Who can use Too Cool and what for?

The implementation of inter/transdisciplinary and multisectoral collaborative approaches has been booming for several years with the emergence of new integrated approaches to health such as the "One Health" concept.
Although these concepts are attractive and promising in theory, their operational implementation often remains difficult and demanding, and there are many obstacles to collaboration. Among these obstacles are communication issues and the lack of support infrastructures enabling collaborators from different backgrounds/sectors :
to work together effectively and efficiently,
to adopt a systemic organisation
to facilitate the constitution of an institutional memory based on the capitalisation of experience from projects, working groups or networks.
Potentially anyone in charge of coordinating / facilitating collaborative work at the local, national or international scale, wether it is in the framework of a network or a project can use Too Cool. Users can be advanced and trained or not in project management. The tool is intended to be user friendly and enable any person in charge of leading collaborative work to be able to do so without any specific background. However a basic training and habilitation is required to use the tool with advanced admin rights in order to ensure that basic rules in terms of confidentiality and personal data protection is ensured.
